Flybe said that, on the back of an eleven percent increase in passenger numbers expected for this summer compared to last year, advance bookings for the August Bank Holiday weekend are already up on last year. With just over a week still to go, the regional budget airline said that it expects to increase sales by at least ten percent over the 4 day period.
Flybe’s top 10 routes for the August Bank Holiday weekend include flights between Birmingham and both Edinburgh and Belfast. Mike Rutter, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, said: ‘It’s good to see passengers recognise the savings to be made booking with us. We operate 3 times more domestic routes than any other airline, with affordable travel from 34 UK departure points.’
