Regional budget airline Flybe is increasing its capacity on flights to Germany to help lessen the impact of a strike by Lufthansa staff. The indefinite strike started yesterday and has already seen over 100 flights cancelled.
Flybe will use larger aircraft on routes between Germany and UK airports including Birmingham, Southampton and Manchester during the strike, which was called in a dispute over pay. Mike Rutter, Flybe's chief commercial officer, said: 'We are stepping in with extra capacity to make sure travellers don't get caught up in the Lufthansa strike.’
