A passenger who was about to board a flight was arrested after a gun was found in his suitcase, the Mirror reports. Failsal Mostafa, 44, was arrested at Manchester Airport just before he got on an Emirates flight bound for Bangladesh.
Mr Mostafa, who has a PhD in chemistry, has been charged with a number of firearms offences and remanded in custody. A woman of 37 who was with him was also arrested but later freed on bail.
A Police spokesman told the newspaper: ‘A man was stopped at Manchester Airport after security staff found a gun in his suitcase. He will appear before Trafford magistrates.’
