Passengers using the railway line between Manchester Airport and Blackpool North face delays over the next 6 weeks while engineering work takes place. The line is closed between Preston and Chorley until September 8 for work on the Chorley Flying Arches.
A bus is running between the two stations, but there will be just one train an hour for stations including Adlington, Blackrod, Horwich Parkway and Bolton. The delays will affect trains operated by First Transpennine Express and Northern Rail.
